17 Times Kate Middleton Had Prince William on a Short Leash

Will helpfully guided Kate in the right direction on their way to the Patron's Lunch in celebration of the Queen's 90th.

It looked like Will wanted to reassure Kate that she was perfectly charming while meeting Michelle and Barack Obama. Which is sweet, because we'd be more than a little nervous about meeting the Beyonce and Jay Z of US politics.

"While I appreciate the gesture, I really don't mind a spot of rain, dear."

"No, I must protect your silky strands from developing frizz. It is my duty. The world needs this as much as I do."

Maybe Kate was worried Will would be tempted to join a pack of rhinos on their wildlife safari in Bhutan, or maybe she was just offering her husband a supportive hand. We'd believe either scenario.

Kate looks happy as can be to have Wills by her side at the Service of Thanksgiving in honor of Queen Elizabeth's milestone birthday. He's ready to serve if she needs anything, from opening a door to a pouring cup of tea to locating a lint brush for corgi hair removal.

Kate might as well be paraphrasing a line from Maurice Sendak's beloved children's tale Where the Wild Things Are in this photo. Don't stray too far from her, Will, or you just might find the tip of a finger missing by morning.

Kate offers a lot in exchange for Will's service as her forever bodyguard -- being his long-lost pal, calling him Betty, and letting her call him Al. Apologies to the royal couple for this comment and to Paul Simon for my butchering the lyrics to his classic single, "You Can Call Me Al*.*"

If there's one phrase that need never be applied to Kate, it's "green with envy." While the duchess undoubtedly looks great in green, she has no reason to be jealous when she has an adoring prince by her side.

We'd feel a lot better about long flights around the world if we were guaranteed to sit next to Prince William and not, say, a stranger who eats an entire tuna sandwich mid-flight.

Will's pleased as punch to see his wife out and about in her origami rosebud fascinator. Who doesn't love a man who appreciates fashion?

Perhaps loving glances like the one Kate is giving Will here are the secret to having a prince at your beck and call.

There's no questioning Will's devotion to Kate after seeing this photo. They're like a significantly better version of that awful Farrelly brothers movie *Stuck on You*, where Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear are conjoined twins. Like we said, a significantly better version.

Kate and Wills looked as close as ever on day two of Royal Ascot. We're pleased that sporting fancy hats is a horse racing tradition shared by our neighbors across the pond.

Will looks like he's reacting to someone's asking him if he thinks he's a good husband. Kate's facial expression suggests he's the absolute best. We'll take her word for it.
