The Royal Family Is Reportedly Getting 'Frustrated' With Meghan Markle & Prince Harry
Lately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been super open about their feelings when it comes to living in the public eye and becoming parents. And now, it sounds like the people around them are starting to get worried. Reportedly, the royal family is concerned about Meghan and Harry after their documentary. Some of them feel like they've taken things too far by being this open.
In their documentary, 'Meghan and Harry: An African Journey,' the duchess got real about how motherhood has been tough for her.
"Any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging," Meghan Markle said in the special. "And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it's a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed."
This is something a lot of women can relate to (royal or not), and it was really brave of Meghan to open up about something so personal. But now, it sounds as if it's sparked a bit of drama in the palace.
Not only are members of the royal family "frustrated" by what Meghan and Harry shared, but they're concerned about their well-being too.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that although there is "great sympathy for Meghan and Harry over what they have faced particularly related to press intrusion," some people close to them believe the couple went "a step too far" in talking so candidly about their emotions.
Hmm ...
Apparently, some think that Meghan and Harry may have been using the documentary as a "cry for help."
"[Members of the royal family] clearly can see that this is a couple who are struggling with their new position, their new royal roles and I think members of the family have reached out to try and help," Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET. "It's my understanding that the Duchess of Cambridge has tried to communicate and has offered to be there for both of them. And the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, Harry's stepmother who very rarely gets involved with family dynamics, has actually reached out to Meghan as well just to see if she can help in any capacity."
That's really sweet -- and we're not surprised at all that Kate Middleton would want to help. She may not have had to move from the United States, but going from a private citizen to a royal had to be an adjustment similar to the one Meghan's had to make over the past couple of years.
it was incredibly brave for Meghan and Harry to get real about their feelings -- especially because they've been huge advocates for mental health.
If anyone's walking the walk, it's these two. Just because they're part of the royal family doesn't mean they should have to suffer in silence or put up with less than they deserve.
Hopefully, the next year will be a much better one for them, and they'll continue to be honest about what they go through. The experience of being a royal is unlike anything else, and we're all ears.
