Bring in Some Culture
Though Queen Bey dubbed her celebration a "push party" rather than a baby shower, she went with an incredible Africa-inspired theme. Beyonce showed up looking like a true goddess, wearing African garb with her glorious twin belly painted a tribal print and on full display. We absolutely love the idea of using heritage or culture as a baby shower theme.
Go Bright With Colors
Many of Beyonce's guests played into the theme too, by donning bright colors and African-inspired garb. We don't know if she made the request or if it was just voluntary, but we like the idea of politely asking guests in the invitation to participate in the theme. Everyone looks adorable, and it leads to awesome photos.Β
When everyone is cohesive, it just makes for a really festive atmosphere.
Outdoor Fiesta
Recently, reality star Nikki Bella β who is half Mexican β hosted a fiesta gender reveal party and went all out for the Mexican-themed event. She wore a dress reminiscent of a traditional Mexican garment and had her backyard decked out with a pinata and papel picado flags. Nikki also had some special authentic Mexican surprises in store for her guests.
Surprise Guests With Live Music
Nikki hired a mariachi band and traditional folklorico dancers to entertain her gender reveal party guests as they dined on fresh tacos from a local taqueria and enjoyed handmade margaritas from the bar. Her party was very chill and close-knit, but the details were perfect β and because NikkiΒ honored her heritage with the celebration, it truly had a meaningful and intimate vibe.
Lace Reveal
AlthoughΒ Brie Bella and her sister, Nikki, happen to be pregnant at the same time, she went with a completely different vibe for her baby shower. Nikki had a casual backyard party, but Brie got decked out in an all-lace gown so formal it could have doubled as a wedding dress. Honestly, we love the idea of getting all dressed up for anyone who truly enjoys being in full glam and being the center of attention. How often does a woman get to dress up her baby bump?
Outdoor Formal
Jessica Simpson named her youngest child Birdie Mae and used that as the jumping off point for her baby shower theme, "Birdie's Nest." Jessica has been known to throw some truly epic parties, and Birdie's shower did not disappoint. The decor was somehow over-the-top but totally tasteful, and we think it would be a gorgeous theme even if the baby's name isn't Birdie.
Feathers & Flowers
Though Jessica isn't usually one to shy away from color, her "Birdie's Nest" baby shower used a monochromatic palette of pale earth tones that made the affair seem somewhat understated, even though it was quite lavish. We love that it was girly without being all pink and lavender β and that the dining decor really did feel like a beautiful carefully crafted bird's nest.Β
It's so soft and pretty!
Picnic, Anyone?
The Bachelor alum and Instagram influencer Bekah Martinez had the most adorable picnic-themed gender reveal that would be perfect for a summer baby shower. The picnic theme was casual, but French countryside casual. It was in her backyard, but there was a lace tent, fancy glasses, and a giant Longaberger picnic basket. Everything was cozy but still picture perfect.
Fun & Simple Menu
Though the wine glasses were understandably empty, we did notice that Bekah's picnic food was a tasty-looking array of cheese, crackers, and fruit β and we think that would be a lovely menu for a summertime baby shower. Add in a bit of charcuterie β and perhaps some nuts and olives, and amp up the fruit and cheese selection β and you have a fun and simple menu for a mid-afternoon shower that makes it easy for guests to mingle.
Classic Garden Party
Ali Fedotowsky's baby shower was a gorgeous garden party on a lake, and we think it was just perfect for a summer shower. From the lush pale pink and white floral arrangements to the fluffy, soft table linens, the decor was so feminine and pretty.Β Even though the former Bachelor contestant's event was on the formal side, some aspects of it could totally be used for a more casual affair.
All-White Baby Shower
Singer Ciara had an all-white baby shower just for the girls. White attire is absolutely ideal for a summer party, and it made for a super-cute group photo. Some guests were in pants, some in dresses, some casual, and some more dressed up. As long as they were in white, it was all good. The shower featured a white tent, white balloons, and beautiful white flower crowns reminiscent of midsummer celebrations to top it all off.
'50 Throwback
There are very few times in an adult woman's life when the party is all about her and she has the opportunity to live out her creative fantasies. Welp, a baby shower is one of those times, and Serena Williams went all in with her 1950s-themed baby shower before she gave birth to her daughter, Olympia. All of her guests were dressed in '50s-style outfits, and a pickup truck from the same era was the centerpiece of the decor. Whether the mama-to-be is into a far-gone era or outer space, it's OK to have some fun with the baby shower theme.

Dessert Party
Who said every baby shower needs to involve a full meal? For moms who have been craving sweets all pregnancy long, why not feature an all-dessert menu at the shower? Nicky Hilton's baby shower dessert table is total inspo. It is completely covered in all sorts of incredible-looking desserts and pastries β including French macarons, rosette cakes, candies, tarts, and more. Not only does it look stunning, but it had to be a whole lot of fun to eat as well.
Unique Book Baby Shower
Book-themed baby showers are pretty common, but Joanna Gaines' book-themed baby shower somehow still managed to look unique and original. In true Gaines' style, the decor was subdued but kind of breathtaking at the same time. The giant books, of course, had the most visual impact, and we're betting that crafty mamas would probably be able to re-create them without too much trouble.
There were little details that caught our eyes as well.
Upcycled Decor
At first glance, the centerpiece on the guest book table looks like cute little trees and leaves, but close-up, it's evident that the entire thing is actually made out of old book pages dyed different shades of blue and green to match the overall theme. It's these tiny details that make an event memorable, and it's totally something that's possible for any mom β even a mom on a budget β to create.
Summery Hues
Reality star Heidi Montag's baby shower was a "Heaven Sent" theme, and although that could be used any time of year, we think the color scheme makes it feel super summery. The shades of blue with white and gold accents are so light and airy and totally remind us of summer days at the beach. Her watercolor cake is also so breezy β and even looks somewhat like ocean waves.
White Floral Centerpieces
Heidi's low, all-white floral centerpieces are the perfect accent for any summer baby shower. They almost look like they were hand-picked from a field of wildflowers and artfully arranged β which makes them feel really seasonal. Even though the pale blue in her decor really does set off the white, this style of flower arrangement would be beautiful with just about any color palette.
Luau Vibes
Model Tess Holliday had the cutest luau-themed baby shower a few years ago! A luau just screams warm weather and a relaxing good time, and we can imagine guests hanging out all evening eating and chatting and celebrating the mom-to-be. (Plus, look how fun Tess' dress is!) Who wouldn't love to have some pics of their baby bump wrapped in something like that?
Those Donuts, Tho
At first glance, it's hard to tell exactly which dessert we're looking at when we see Tess Holliday's "Aloha Baby" goodies. Is it a cake? Cookies? Nope! These are actually custom donuts! (Um, yes please.) Not only do these message donuts look freakin' adorable, but we bet they tasted amazing too. Tess' guests were probably snapping photos left and right.
