Couple Become Oldest People To Divorce After Husband Discovers Wife's 60-Year Secret
When it comes to discussing dating and relationships, people online — most often men — pine for days gone by. They want the type of marriages their grandparents had, long-lasting and committed. These people lament the divorce rate and claim that people just aren’t designed to stick it out anymore.
But one man from the older generation was ready to end his marriage after he learned of a secret his wife kept for more than half a century.

This is not the first time the couple have had marital issues.
Rosa admitted that she had been unfaithful. While she was remorseful, Antonio demanded a divorce. Apparently, this is not the first time the couple have faced challenges in their union. Ten years ago, Antonio temporarily left their marital home after an argument.
The former couple met in the 1930s, when Antonio was stationed in Rosa’s native Naples, while he served in the Italian Carabinieri (police). They share five children, 12 grand children, and one great grandchild, according to ABC News. With 77 years under their belt, Antonio and Rosa set the record for the couple who have been married the longest before divorce.
People did not take it easy on Rosa.
The news of the divorce was shared on Reddit, among other social media outlets, where people had a lot to say about this record-breaking couple.
Many people sided with Antonio and referenced the fact that the letters were still in the house as a bad sign.
“I know people laugh but this is fair,” one user argued. “She kept those letters for sixty years!”
“Betrayal has no time limit,” another user wrote. “The fact that she kept letters says a lot.”
There was one person who tried to offer Rosa some sympathy.
Users also flung plenty of hurtful and shaming names at Rosa, calling her everything but a child of God. Others found the humor in the situation.
“Stay together for the great grandkids,” someone wrote.
“He legit can find a hot young gold digger,” another offered.
But there was one sympathetic comment on Rosa’s behalf.
“His pain is real, but her reasons for having an affair were as well,” another user wrote. “It could have been curiosity, it could have been she wasn't fulfilled or loved. She stuck it out for so many decades - clearly this relationship meant something to her. Maybe we shouldn't judge others - especially those living in a different time, but just try to empathize with what it must've been like. I hope Rosa found love in whatever form it came to her in.”
