Dad Goes Viral After Learning Daughter's Cheer Routine & Performing Along in the Stands
We can't lie. We love to see parents cheering on their kids. When it comes to sporting events, we know plenty of moms and dads go wild when they see their kids do something amazing on the court or the field. It is heartwarming to witness that kind of love and support. And friends, we have a good one for you today.
Texas dad Andre Simmons is the father of five and his children's biggest cheerleader. As a matter of fact, his 15-year-old daughter, Jazlyn, is a cheerleader herself, and Simmons wanted his girl to know how proud he is of her. So what did he do? Dad learned the cheer team's entire routine and danced with them at a Temple High School football game. Dad's got the moves, and we've got the feels.

Simmons is away a lot, so he wanted to do something special for Jazlyn.
The dancing dad told Good Morning America that he doesn't feel like the best dancer, but he put in a lot of practice to learn that routine. He is an infantryman and spends a lot of time away from home, so when he had the chance to "create a lifelong memory" for Jazlyn, he literally jumped at the opportunity.
"She thought she made the varsity cheer team so my way of supporting her and kind of trying to make up that time lost is doing things that she loves and surprising her with joining her in the cheer during the football game," Simmons told the morning news show.
He waited for the perfect moment.
Simmons didn't want to embarrass himself or his daughter, so he wanted to perfect the dance before debuting it.
"Once I got it down pat, I just jumped up there when I heard the band finally bring the song up and I got up there and did it with her," he recalled to Good Morning America.
He said Jazlyn had no idea he would dance, and the whole team loved it.
Thankfully, the dynamite routine was caught on camera.
Cecelia Simmons, Andre Simmons' wife, posted a video of her husband dancing on TikTok in late September, and it has amassed 315,000 views. She captioned the video, "Everyone always asks Andrè Simmons about the boys continuing his football legacy. Little do they know he's waited his whole life to be a cheer dad 😁."
People in the stands laughed along with every minute of his performance. And so did people on TikTok.
More than 500 people left comments for Simmons, cheering for him.
Who doesn't love a dancing dad? He has a lot of fans. People were impressed by his skills.
"Baby he didn't miss 1 cheer dad practice and it shows! 🥰 He is the coordinator, the girls are watching him for the next cue," a comment reads.

Simmons has no plans of giving up.
He told Good Morning America that Jazlyn has a big piece of his heart, and he will continue to support her.
"I love to try to be super dad when I'm here and create those lifelong memories and it's something for us to look back on and enjoy together," he said. "At the end of the day, it's all for her. So I'm gonna get up there and do the cheer with her."
Yes, daddy, we are here for it. Now, can you teach the men in our lives some of these moves? We would love to see them shaking their things at Friday night football.
