Dad Posts Hilarious Video After Being Shamed for Letting His Kids Use Screens
It’s not every day you see parenting shame directed at fathers. Most of the time, people are just happy to see a dad holding their child, much less actually engaging with them. But Dante Biden, a content creator who goes by the handle Brilliant Dad on Instagram, found himself being criticized and he handled it so well, we have to applaud.
Not only did his video response go viral, but he also received national attention for his humorous take on the screen time controversy that pretty much every parent has faced in the past decade.

Someone told Dante that if he gave his children iPads, someone else would be raising them.
The reel came as the result of a comment from someone who shared their disapproval writing: “You give your children an iPad and somebody else will raise your kids!”
Dante decided to take the comment literally and put together a whole skit as if this bit of information was true. “Is that how it works?!” he asks no one in particular before running off to collect his two toddler children.

Dante put this advice to the test.
Dante slaps a book out of his child’s hand, shoves an iPad into it, and drops him off at someone else’s doorstep. He rings the doorbell and says, “Hey, bud. You’re going to live with someone else now. As long as you have this, you’ll be just OK.”
As the door to his child’s new home opens, Dante says, “Yes, he’s for you.”
Then he turns his back and runs, clicking his heels on the way. And in true kid fashion, Dante’s two children, River, 4 and August, 2, immediately run after him.
In an interview with Today.com, Dante joked, “Unfortunately, it didn’t work.”
'Everything is fine in moderation,' Dante said.
Dante, 30, said he was once one of those people who vowed to never give his children tablets. “I was like, they'll never have iPads, they'll never have juice or sugar and I'll never buy those tiny plastic toys," he said.
But actually becoming a parent changes things.
“I realized iPads are fine,” he now says. “Everything is fine in moderation. We're all just trying to survive the toddler years, and there's no one right way to do things."
Dante's humor didn't stop the criticism.
In another video, Dante makes fun of parents who once thought like he did, then showing them changing once toddlers show up on the scene. In the text over the video Dante wrote, “shortly realizing they can’t survive toddlers without them.”
It’s quality content. Still, Dante’s lighthearted take didn’t stop the criticism.
“Lazy parenting point blank period!” one user wrote. “How did our parents do it back in the day?”
“Or just have willpower and want to engage with your children,” another TikToker wrote.
Still, many parents could relate.
Most people understood exactly where Dante was coming from.
“I promise you we were the perfect parents BEFORE the kids,” one person commented.
“5 years and no iPad... Because ours is Samsung,” another person confessed.
Whatever people have to say about his parenting choices, Dante is able to take it on the chin. He lets the criticism roll off his back, Today.com reported. “I either laugh at it, or use it for new content,” he said.
