A Doorbell Cam Captured the Most Amazing Moments When a Mom Suffered an Ectopic Pregnancy
We never really know how strong our own support systems are until we find ourselves in the middle of a crisis. It is amazing to see how many people will go out of their way to show their love and support when friends and family need it the most. It can be humbling to feel that kind of love.
Tessa Truman, who goes by @tessatruman on TikTok, recently found out just how loved she is when she unexpectedly suffered from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy at home. In the days following her emergency surgery, her "village" as she called it, came out in droves. She shared doorbell camera footage of loved ones at her door in a TikTok video that has gone mega-viral, and it will undoubtedly make you smile.

Truman was near the end of her first trimester of pregnancy.
She explained on TikTok that she found out she was pregnant in early December 2023 and was about 11 weeks along when the rupture occurred. Her fiancé had just gotten home from work when she began to feel violently ill. She went into the bathroom and passed out.
Truman was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery to remove the pregnancy and one of her fallopian tubes. She recalled losing so much blood that the doctor said had she not had the surgery, she may have died.
She is grateful to be alive.
After she processed what the doctor told her and got home from the hospital, she said she was grateful to be alive and overwhelmed by the generosity of those who love her.
"My village is just the best," she says in her TikTok. "I had so many people lining up to bring me meals, bring me flowers, bring me treats."
She says the calls, texts, and messages made her emotional, and the outpouring of love "meant a lot."
The footage from her doorbell camera touched millions of people.
Her original video amassed 10.4 million views and 2.2 million likes. We see Truman taken out on a stretcher, and then person after person shows up at her door to help, carrying food, flowers, or grocery items.
When a woman loses a pregnancy, it is heart-wrenching, and it is obvious the people who love Truman understand that and wanted her to know that she is important to them.
All kinds of people came to support the grieving mom.
Sometimes, it can be easier for women to comfort other women during a pregnancy loss, but men came to her door, too.
"It is beautiful to watch the women care for you but when the men showed up, that's powerful. I'm glad you have this village," someone wrote.
"The old man with the small vase of flowers 😭❤️," another commenter noted.
