Why Jennifer Lopez Feels 'Guilty' That Her Twins Are Growing Up With Famous Parents

If being a celebrity is hard, being the child of a celebrity has to be even harder. At least, that's the lesson Jennifer Lopez says her twins have learned. Things have to be even more challenging when you consider that the 15-year-olds live with one of the most famous couples in the world.

J.Lo talked about her mom guilt while appearing on 'Audacy.'

The 53-year-old was taking part in a roundtable for her new movie The Mother when she revealed that she feels "guilt" over how her children are treated because of their famous parents.

"I think being the child of famous parents is not something many people can understand, and I feel for [my kids] for that because they didn't choose that," she revealed.

She says she wasn't aware until recently just how differently people were treating the twins.

Jennifer shares Emme and Maximilian with ex-husband Marc Anthony, who she was married to from 2004 to 2014. For several years after they split, J.Lo called Florida home, where she was raising the twins.

Once she and Ben Affleck rekindled their romance, J.Lo uprooted her kids and brought them to California, where the pair recently bought a home together.

All people see is the children of a famous actress and singer.

"[Others are] not seeing them for who they are," Jennifer continued. "And I think that has to be a really hard thing for them. So I would love to be able to protect them from that."

In addition to shielding them from that, she said she also wishes she could do something about them "being judged" by strangers.

However, Jennifer thinks that all of this is character-building.

When all is said and done, J.Lo thinks her kids will be better for this experience. "The pain is necessary. The pain is actually good," she said on Thursday's show.

"The pain kind of makes you feel a little bit like a warrior when you get through it."

Here's hoping her kids feel the same way!

At least they know a few other kids who are in the same boat.

Both Emme and Max spend a lot of time with their stepsiblings now that their mom and Ben are married. We're sure 17-year-old Violet, 14-year-old Seraphina, and 11-year-old Samuel can commiserate on what it's like to be the children of superstars.

Fortunately, the five of them can compare notes and lean on one another for support. It's hard enough being the children of celebrities. Being caught in Bennifer's orbit is a whole other level!
