Jessa Duggar Responds to Fan Concerns Over How Her Husband Treated Her on a Lunch Date

On social media, Jessa, who is pregnant with her fifth baby, shared photos she took while on a mini belated anniversary outing with Ben.

Jessa shared that she and Ben were able to have a quick 24-hour getaway to celebrate their anniversary, writing, “Enjoyed a belated anniversary 24 hr getaway with my one and only! @ben_seewald.”

Along with the caption, Jessa shared a carousel of three images. The first showed the two having lunch in a little café, enjoying coffee, while Ben sat looking down while reading a book.

The second photo the two enjoyed another sit-down, this time outside with some orange juice and treats. The third image was a close-up photo of one of the meals Jessa enjoyed.

Jessa and Ben are parents to four kids — Spurgeon, 8; Henry, 6; Ivy, 4; and Fern, 2 — and it won’t be too long until a fifth baby enters their family because Jessa is in her third trimester already. Fans were happy the couple were able to take some time away.

“Looks delicious. Glad you two got to have a little getaway for your anniversary and before baby comes,” one fan wrote. “It's so important in marriage to have time for just the two of you.”

“Hope you both had a wonderful 9th wedding anniversary get away,” someone else shared. “Nice to see your both getting to spend some special quality time alone together. Happy anniversary to both of you.”

Jessa’s sister, Jill Duggar Dillard, also left a sweet message, writing: “Aww yay! Happy anni y’all!”

“He looks so happy,” one person wrote, adding two emojis to show the comment was sarcastic. “And reading a book! Perhaps you should go with your sisters next time and have some fun! You deserve it,” the person continued.

Another critic shared something similar, writing: “Why is he reading a book instead of just spending the moment with you?”

Jessa doesn’t typically interact much with her fans and critics on social media. But she did take a moment to respond to one of the people asking, and assuming, why Ben wasn’t paying attention to her if they were on an anniversary date.

“He was reading aloud to me!” Jessa wrote, adding in two white heart emojis. “’This Momentary Marriage’ by John Piper.”

Hopefully they had a great time. Baby No. 5 will be here before they know it!
