Kate Middleton Finally Spotted Out In Public for the First Time Since Her Hospitalization
Call off the search party. For the first time since December, Kate Middleton has been spotted, and it was captured on camera. For weeks, people have been coming up with their very best theories as to why we haven’t seen the Princess of Wales since Christmas. In mid-January the palace announced that she was undergoing a "planned abdominal surgery" that would require a lengthy hospital stay to recover before she would continue to recuperate at home. As a result, all of her public appearances were canceled for several months. Days turned into weeks with no sightings of Kate, and even now that she's been spotted, we still have so many questions!
Cameras finally caught up with Kate.
TMZ shared a photo of Kate in the car with her mother, Carole Middleton, driving near Windsor Castle. She rode in the passenger seat while her mom drove, wearing a pair of dark sunglasses and looking quite buttoned up. Kate and her mom appear to be alone in the car — no security was present.
There has been a lot of speculation recently about Kate's whereabouts.
The internet has been abuzz with theories as to Kate’s whereabouts since returning home from the hospital. It came to such a frenzied pitch that Kate’s team had to issue a statement reiterating their commitment to her privacy.
"Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates," a rep told media outlets last week. "That guidance stands."
Kate was hospitalized in January.
In January, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that Kate had undergone a "planned" abdominal surgery that would have her in the hospital for as long as two weeks. After that, she would go home to keep recuperating. "Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter," the original statement read.
Easter falls on March 31 this year.

The palace has been determined to maintain Kate's privacy.
"The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private," the statement read, adding that she would be postponing any planned engagements during her recovery time.
Later in January, the palace had confirmed that Kate had returned home and had been "making good progress."
Prince William has also remained quiet regarding his wife.
On March 1, Prince William dodged a question regarding his wife during an appearance at Wrexham AFC stadium. When asked, "How’s Catherine?" the Daily Mail reported that William simply kept walking.
During an appearance at a Welsh elementary school, students presented the Prince of Wales with a bouquet of flowers that were presumably for his wife.
"I’ll pass those on to Catherine, as well," he said, thanking the students. "You all seem very happy, very smart."
