'Love Is Blind' Star Chelsea Blackwell Says She Is Receiving Death Threats From Fans

Sa'iyda Shabazz

There is no doubt that fans have a lot of feelings about Chelsea Blackwell on Love is Blind. People have wasted no time taking to social media after each new set of episodes drops to talk about what kind of off-the-wall behavior she will engage in next. The season has been full of cringey moments, and although they haven't all involved Chelsea, many viewers will name her as the worst offender. But despite any mistakes she might have made on the show, Chelsea is asking for the death threats she's been receiving to come to a stop.

Chelsea isn't immune to criticism.

In a recent Instagram video, Chelsea addressed the way she came off on the show while also reminding people that despite being on TV, she’s a real person.

"You guys have every single right to, you know, have opinions on my life," she said. "But like, I don’t know, maybe cease the death threats for a minute? I don’t know, just a thought."

Watching the series has been a 'mental' experience for her.

She tried to show that she’s learning from her own mistakes.

"Imagine spending the year really working on yourself, finding those inner demons, and really becoming the woman you’ve always wanted to be, sitting with hardships in your life that you’ve never really sat with before — and then having to relive it. It’s mental, OK?"

People in the comments didn’t seem receptive to hear what Chelsea had to say.

"Girl, I don’t believe anybody was sending you death threats," one person shared.

Some even tried to diagnose her, with one commenter writing, "You have the most severe Borderline Personality Disorder I’ve ever seen on tv. It’s extremely painful to watch."

Chelsea has been busy trying to explain her actions as the show airs.

Recently, Chelsea spoke about how her time on the series caused her to do some deep reflection about herself, especially after seeing her conversations with Jimmy about the future of their relationship.

"I think there was so much context missing from both of those massive arguments, which is so unfortunate because I look like a literal insane person when it comes to exposing my life and having my relationship open to the world," she told People. "There's so much context that led me to those points that we're missing. So it sucks to see those parts not be shown, but it is what it is."

She also opened up about her experience in therapy.

She also revealed that she’s gone to therapy to work through the issues that popped up during the show.

"I've never seen a therapist before. I think everyone should benefit from a therapist. I have a great relationship with mine," she told People. "I've taken on meditation. I've done so much for my mental health, and I just feel like I'm in the best spot I've ever been in my entire life, and it's a really good feeling."
