Mom Has a Complete Tantrum & Ruins Gender Reveal Because She Doesn't Want Another Girl
Gender is more than genitalia. We can’t know a child’s true gender identity until they tell us. Still, that doesn’t stop people from hosting gender reveal parties. And in addition to the very real danger these parties pose to human life and the environment, one of the most distressing things to witness is parents who are visibly upset to learn that the child they are having is not the gender they would prefer.
Generally, these tantrums and outbursts come from fathers. But a recent TikTok showed a mother completely losing it at her party, creating a scene that was upsetting to witness.

An expectant mother demolished her gender reveal party after she learned the sex of her baby.
A TikTok mom from Chicago showed an expectant mother completely distraught at a gender reveal party. Not only were her emotions in disarray, so were the decorations. She’d overturned a table, ripped down balloons, toppled over decorative blocks.
The TikTok begins some time after all of this took place, but the text over the video explained it all. “POV: When you destroy your gender reveal because you didn’t want another girl,” it says.

As the mother walked off, guests had mixed reactions.
At one point, the expectant mother had to be restrained. Once they finally let her go, she rips off the sash for the party, throws it on the ground, and storms off. Her guests are left looking after her. Some were shocked by the reaction.
Others laughed, perhaps nervously. One woman can be heard saying, “She really mad! I didn’t think she was for real.” Others decided to taunt her with the news saying, “You’re having a girl!”
TikTok users expressed concern.
It was disturbing to watch, and the TikTok comments were concerned not for the mother, but for the child she’s carrying.
“Y’all better take that damn baby,” someone wrote.
Another comment read: “They better than me. I would’ve grabbed ALL my gifts and left.”
“And I just want a healthy baby,” wrote another commenter.
One TikToker thought the video shows how much 'femininity is hated in this world.'
The video inspired quite a bit of commentary, including a stitch from another content creator, Keva G, who shared how the whole thing represents society’s view of the feminine.
“Every single gender reveal party that I see on this for you page just lets you know how much femininity, the famine is hated in this world,” she began. “Because you never get that response when it’s a boy. And that’s really sad.”

Keva said these reactions are the reason she believes there should be no gender reveal parties in the first place. “Dumb. Cause now imagine your baby grows up and watches how upset a parent was that their baby is not the gender that they want,” she said in the video.
She went even deeper, noting that gender is a construct and just because a baby has certain genitalia, it does not mean that they will be the gender you want.
One TikTok user wondered why have a gender reveal party if you know you might be disappointed.
After watching that scene and listening to Keva’s analysis, someone said what we are likely all thinking, “Why even through a gender reveal party if you’re not going to be happy with the potential outcome? Why even have a kid?”
It’s definitely something more parents should consider before they get pregnant, have a party, and then film their negative reactions for the internet.
