I Left My Baby in Coach While I Enjoyed 11-Hour Flight in Business Class & I'm Not Sorry

We can all probably agree that traveling with a baby isn't always the most relaxing experience. But generally, we understand that when we decide to start a family our kids are our responsibility. For many, that means taking care of kids on the go. It may not always be convenient, but parenting doesn't take a vacation.

Ellis Cochlin, a mom from the United Kingdom, does a lot of international traveling with her daughter, Prim, who is not yet a year old. Recently, Cochlin's boyfriend joined the pair on their travels, but Cochlin decided to ditch Prim and her daddy for a business-class seat. She chronicled the trip for her TikTok channel, @ellcochlin, and it's gotten some mixed reviews from parents and other travelers alike.

Typically, Cochlin and Prim are a perfect pair on a plane.

She has posted other videos of herself flying with Prim, and she appears to be a well-behaved baby. But this time, Cochlin's boyfriend, Rob, offered to fly with the baby by himself in economy, so Cochlin took full advantage of the 11-hour kid-free flight from Paris to Los Angeles.

"Am I horrible for leaving them both in economy?😭It was my only opportunity to have a baby free flight and I took it, what would you do?" she captioned her video.

The nearly three-minute clip is pretty eye-opening.

It opens with the doting parents caring for Prim in the airport before boarding the flight. Once they get through the gate, Prim and Rob take off to their seats, and Cochlin takes us through her trip.

She enjoys a moist towel on her face and a variety of foods. Her seat looks comfortable and spacious, and she explains that Rob told her the business-class seat was the last part of her "push present," and she wanted to take full advantage.

It honestly didn't seem like a bad idea.

Talk to moms about mom stuff. And make money doing it.

But then she cut to a video of Rob and Prim.

We don't see Prim getting upset or crying, but we see the baby sleeping on the floor, which upsets some TikTokers.

"As if he left the baby on the floor 😭😳," one comment reads.

Many commenters agreed.

"I couldn't believe it😭," someone exclaimed.

"Mums in business class and baby's on the floor 😭😭," another pointed out.

But Cochlin quickly clapped back. "She hates contact naps so I think he just thought to lay her down to sleep😅😩," she explained.

Some people didn't understand how she could leave her baby.

A lot of parents evidently prefer to be with their kids on a flight.

"As someone who flies frequently with a 3 yr old and under 1 I couldn't relax, I'd be checking on them too much. But if you can relax then good for you," someone wrote.

Someone else agreed, writing, "I would have had fomo and spent most my time hanging out with them anyway lol."

Others were glad she had the chance to relax on a flight.

"I couldn't but good on you 👏," someone commented.

"I couldn't do this to my partner I wouldn't enjoy the flight at all. Pleased for you though 👌 I really wish I could do it and not feel guilty," another person wrote.

There were more supporters than haters.

A lot of her followers pointed out that she is a seasoned traveler and spends plenty of time alone with Prim. They thought it was totally fine for her to take a break.

"The amount of flights you've posted on your own i hope you enjoyed every single secondddd😅✨," someone wrote.

"Why are people giving hate? Women are allowed to enjoy time away from their baby and not feel like a bad person. Let's not mum shame! Enjoy it girl 😍," another person shared.

And this person made a great point: "Not horrible at all. It's not like you left her with a complete stranger."

We are totally OK with this one. Dads are just as capable as moms, and if you have someone willing to give you a break, girl, you take it and enjoy all the perks!
