New Husband Catches Flak Over Raunchy Wedding Vows After Wife's Heartfelt Words
If you have been to a wedding or two, you're familiar with traditional wedding vows. We've all heard "love, honor, and obey," but that isn't everyone's vibe. Many couples like incorporating their personal style into their wedding ceremonies by writing their own vows. This can be an extremely personal and beautiful way to express their love for each other. But for some, it can also be a shock.
Kaitlyn Brooks and Cody Sheehan recently got married in Kentucky, and she wrote loving vows to her husband. But his sentiment wasn't quite the same. A viral TikTok posted by videographer Samuel Foree from CK Entertainment Services shows Cody making a promise to his wife, but not everyone thought it was as funny as he did.

It appeared to be a special moment.
The event looked beautiful. The couple was reportedly married in an outdoor ceremony on a beautiful September day. Kaitlyn is dressed in a lovely white gown, and Cody is wearing a handsome suit.
The video cuts in after Kaitlyn finishes her vows just in time for Cody to profess his love: "I promise to smack that a-- every chance I get."
Cody thought he was hilarious.
The officiant, however, didn't seem to enjoy his little joke.
Cody laughs after making the strange vow to his wife, and the officiant asks, "Is that it?" Cody says "Yes," and he asks again, "Are you sure?"
Cody laughs and says, "I didn't write nothin' out." The officiant proceeds, and Cody adds, "We've made it this long."
Poor Kaitlyn doesn't know what to do.
Her awkward sway is painfully familiar. If you have ever been badly embarrassed by something ridiculous someone has said, you recognize Kaitlyn’s blushing smile, and your heart will positively ache for her. This was supposed to be her special day, and it is painfully clear she didn't think Cody would perform his stand-up routine at the altar.
Millions of people have watched the painfully awkward exchange.
Since posting the video on TikTok on December 13, it has been viewed 9.6 million times. And not surprisingly, people aren't big fans of Cody.
Not everyone got his little joke. "notice how no one else is laughing besides him," a commenter pointed out.
People had big thoughts. "He basically said, 'Well, ive treated her badly for this long. Why do better now'. I would've walked right then and there," someone wrote.
And commenters noticed the officiant. "The officiant trying to give him a chance of redemption 😭😭😂," another comment reads.
"He's the ONLY one laughing, the pastor tried to give him a second chance and you could hear another man say 'C'mon Cody', That's allwe need to know..." someone commented.

People's hearts went out to Kaitlyn.
This was the bride's big day, and Cody didn't seem to care. Plenty of people noticed.
"Her wedding dress is so pretty, she looked so beautiful :( she didn't deserve that," one person wrote.
Another person added, "You wait your whole life to find someone to walk down the aisle to, and this is what they say to you in front of everyone you love ..."
"She looks so disappointed and embarrassed 🥺," another comment reads.
Some people would have left.
"I would've said nvm. I feel so bad for her. I hope he changes. ASAP," another comment claimed.
"I mean you could include a funny line at the end of the vows but to not have ANYTHING else to say?? I'd leave," someone else wrote.
And there would have been some ticked fathers out there. "My daddy would have got up and cleaned his clock!!!!!" one person admitted.
