First Photo of Kate Middleton After Surgery Is Inspiring a Lot of New Conspiracy Theories
On Monday, Kate Middleton was finally spotted in public for the first time since the Christmas holidays – or was she? Following a major abdominal surgery in January, the palace has warned us that Kate wouldn't be up for any public engagements until after Easter, but that hasn't stopped people from coming up with conspiracy theories about what's really going on behind closed doors. And now that people have seen Kate in action, those theories are only growing at a breakneck speed.
Photographs of Kate surfaced for the first time in more than two months on Monday.
The photos, which were published by TMZ, showed Kate riding in the passenger seat of a car driven by mom Carole Middleton. According to the news outlet, they were near Windsor Castle at the time.
Kate is wearing sunglasses in the photos, and it's hard to see her face considering how grainy the images are.
People aren't convinced that's actually her in the photo.
Since the images first came out, there's been a lot of debate about the photos. Some think that Kate's appearance has changed drastically since the last time we saw her, and others believe that the person in these photos isn't actually Kate at all.

People have a lot of questions about the photo.
Some are surprised that the photo quality would be this bad in 2024, when paparazzi are typically outfitted with the latest technology so they can get the best shots.
Multiple people pointed out that certain facial features of Kate's seemed to be missing, such as the mole above her upper lip.
Some think that it's actually Pippa in the photos.
Because Pippa and Kate have always looked alike — as they should, because they're sisters — some people on X (formerly Twitter) are pointing out that with sunglasses on, this could conceivably be Pippa posing as Kate.
It would be a sneaky way to assure the public that Kate was fine while the actual Kate continued to hide in private ...
The palace has maintained that Kate is still recovering in privacy.
Last week, the palace issued a statement amid speculation that something deeper was secretly going on with Kate.
"We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant," the statement read, via People.
That's their story, and they're sticking to it – but this sighting certainly didn't do anything to calm people's concerns.
