Prince William Makes Rare Public Comment About Kate Middleton's Appearance
It's been a while since we've seen Prince William and Kate Middleton out on an official engagement. On their first day back in an official royal capacity after a short break, the Prince of Wales made a rare comment about the Princess of Wales to crowds in Birmingham.
The royal parents looked happy to be out chatting with people again.
Other than Easter weekend, the two have been relatively quiet. Instead of going out on royal engagements, William and Kate have been hanging out with their kids — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4 — while they were on break from school.
But now that they're back to work, gearing up ahead of King Charles' coronation, all eyes were on the couple.
Something Prince William said while greeting guests stood out.
The royal couple took time to greet crowds of people waiting to say hello before they went into their appointments. The first was to help a family-run restaurant.
Kate looked stunning in a maroon dress complemented by matching heels, whereas William opted for a more casual look with his standard blue dress shirt and gray blazer, without a tie and a few buttons left undone.
Someone in the crowd spoke to William, commenting on Kate's outfit.
According to a video on Twitter that captured the interaction, an onlooker commented on what Kate was wearing.
Speaking to the prince, the fan mentioned that the Princess of Wales' outfit looked "amazing."
Generally, William and Kate are very serious on these outings and don't do a whole lot of public displays of affection — which is why what William said in response was surprising to hear.
William responded to the person who commented on Kate's outfit.
"Oh, she always looks stunning," he said in response.
Although that's not a huge deal, we don't typically hear a lot of affectionate phrases from these two. Plus, they seemed a little more touchy than usual while on an official royal engagement.
Fans of the royals loved to hear William speak so kindly about Kate.
Only a few days ago, a source alleged William is not very nice to Kate, so his comment really stuck with people.
“He's such a good man,” someone replied.
“That's just the sweetest thing! He's right, too; she does,” another commenter shared.
“When your man respects you — that's love!” added someone else.
“There's a man who truly loves his wife,” replied another person.
“He's so much more confident than the shy boy he once was princess Diana would have been so proud of him,” another fan wrote.
The royal family are all gearing up for the king's coronation, which will take place on May 6.
