Breaking Down Prince William & Kate Middleton's Body Language on Their Royal Train Tour
Now that Kate Middleton and Prince William have completed their train tour around the United Kingdom, it's time to analyze their behavior on the trip. According to a body language expert, Kate and Will projected "warmth and fun" in the way they acted during their royal engagements — definitely good to hear, because this tour was meant to thank essential workers for all they've done this year.
Will and Kate's "looks of love" revealed a lot about their relationship.
According to what expert Judi James told the Daily Mail, Will and Kate have gone a bit heavier on the PDA on this trip than they normally would, and it's helped make them seem more real to the public.
"It has appeared to allow William and Kate to relax a little more in public and to show some very authentic-looking glimpses of their relationship, rather than forcing them to put on a fake performance for the cameras," James said of their new approach.
James added that this trip seemed to be all about boosting morale.
She might be onto something. After all, 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us — who couldn't use a little holiday cheer from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge? James said:
"Timing this tour close to Christmas, William and Kate appear even more determined to project the Christmas spirit, boosting morale around the country not just via their regal presence but in the way that our relatives and friends used to boost morale when they were able to visit us at Christmas, by projecting a sense of warmth and fun that is visual between them as a couple, as well as the warmth they will be projecting to the people they meet."
Kate and Will looked particularly in love at the train station.
As the body language expert explained, if Will and Kate were faking their connection for the cameras, they'd avoid eye contact, but this couple actually ended up doing the opposite of that when they were visiting the train station.
"Kate looked happy to raise her chin and tilt her head close to William's in a gesture of trust, while throwing the kind of softened, crinkled eye-expression that could only be described as looking besotted," James explained.
These days, they're both looking more confident.
"I think their work during the pandemic, with their ability to project warmth and support during video appearances, plus both William and Kate’s surprising levels of talent as presenters talking straight to the camera (his documentary of mental health in sport and her recent campaign launches on social media), must have added to their confidence when it comes to being more emotionally revealing," James said.
These two have been super busy over the past year, and being successful must have given both of them a real boost!
The train tour is over, but it's nice to hear that Will and Kate's relationship is in a good place.
Though they did get a little backlash for going on tour at a time like this, it seems as if the whole thing went off without a hitch (minus some criticism Kate got for a tiny spelling error she made at the station). Now, maybe these two can go home and get some rest before the holidays. We know Charlotte, George, and Louis must have been excited to welcome their parents back home.
