Guests Disgusted After Resort Served Chocolate-Covered Woman for Dessert in Front of Kids

A luxury resort in Italy left some visitors with a bad taste in their mouths after a strange dessert presentation. Hotel Voi Colonna Village in Sardinia reportedly offered guests a table full of delicious treats with a woman in a bikini covered in chocolate syrup smack dab in the middle.

Making the employee a sticky spectacle evidently didn't quite hit the mark the way the resort hoped. Tyla reported that the chocolate-covered lady turned off guests, and instead of indulging, they passed on enjoying a little something sweet.

The woman made a pretty bizarre centerpiece.

Tyla reported the woman lay on the table covered in chocolate for 30 minutes as part of the evening's dinner and entertainment. One resort guest, Federico Mazzieri, an HR manager, went straight to LinkedIn to review the experience. He had his 14-year-old daughter with him and thought the display was wildly inappropriate.

"Last night, after a beautiful day in which many people worked hard to ensure that the many guests had a carefree day, I was speechless to see this scene," he wrote.

Resort employees allegedly ignored Mazzieri's request to speak to management regarding the display.

His posts are in Italian, but LinkedIn offers a translation option. Mazzieri reportedly wanted to speak to management about the dessert table, but he claimed employees brushed off his request.

He wanted the resort to explain its values, writing this: "How you can publish these corporate values on your website: 2) Tradition Italian history, passion and pride can be found in all VOIhotels structures, characterized by a family atmosphere that you can breathe in every part of the world. 3) Innovation Respect the environment and people through a more sustainable tourism by offering its customers personalized activities and typical local products. and allow these behaviors to exist in their own structures, where the body of a woman, of a worker, is equated to that of a dish to satisfy someone's mischievous eye."

The hotel group responded to his request.

Although he was reportedly unable to speak with management during his stay, it seems that going on social media was an effective way to attract attention. VOIhotels addressed the aggravated father's concern, defending its claim to be a family-friendly resort. It issued an apology to Mazzieri and his daughter.

The company shared a message that reads in part, "We deeply regret the incident that has occurred and wish to firmly reiterate that we have never had any intention of representing values other than those we embrace with determination and which are the same as those of the Alpitour World group of which we are part. We will continue to work tirelessly so that situations like these do not happen again in the future, pursuing the maximum commitment in form and substance."

Mazzieri claimed the hotel told him he was the only one who complained.

The lengthy discussion on his post brought lots of opinions and commentary.

Mazzieri wrote that the hotel claimed he was the only naysayer of the bunch. "Francesca Procopio unfortunately according to what was said by out of 700 guests only I complained! Given the reactions to the post it seems strange to me to be the only one to have this 'sensitivity,'" he wrote.

And even though he may have been the only one to display his displeasure, he wrote he encouraged his daughter to always speak up.

"I explained to her that if everyone does their part (even a small one) for this world and for this society that no longer works, we can also succeed in reversing the course," he explained.

LinkedIn users largely backed Mazzieri and his take.

One woman thought that the display was OK for other resorts, but not one claiming to be family friendly. A translation of her post reads, "I'm basita ... such a gimmick could make sense in a club in Amsterdam or Paris dedicated to an adult audience, at the Moulin Rouge the female body is no less exploited, but it is what you expect to find ... But in a family holiday village? What marketing genius conceived such a misplaced gimmick?"

Another commenter believed that the whole thing was demeaning to women. "I think the female body is best described as "poetry in motion" and there's nothing wrong with admiring the beauty and respect that comes with it... but this is degrading and humiliating to the level of an object... and for What? Money? 🙄."

"In the time of performances dedicated to the woman's body have been made but contextualized and explained instead in this I do not see any message but only want to impress (in negative by the way); What message would it be to have a young lady lying half naked on a table set up with sweets and pastries? Really bad taste," another person agreed.
