Who needs a little good news? We are always up for a feel-good story, and as moms, it warms our hearts that much more when it is one kid helping another. Kids can be surprisingly smart and resourceful, and when they are, it makes us so proud, even when it's not our kid!

A teenager in Florida gave us some serious feels after rescuing a baby left alone by a car thief in the scorching heat.

The baby appeared out of nowhere.

Jamichal Young, 16, was minding his business on August 13, when he walked outside his Fort Lauderdale home, and found a baby alone in his car seat. The teen wasted no time getting the 21-month-old child out of the heat while trying to figure out how he ended up there in the first place.

It was a hot Florida afternoon.

"They left a baby out, and we don't know whose it is," Jamichal said as he filmed the 21-month-old baby outside his home near Northwest 13th Street and Northwest 30th Terrace.

He immediately called 911 and took the child to his family so they could care for him.

"We changed his diaper cause it was wet, and then we got him some juice and stuff," Jamichal told 7 News Miami. Another member of his family began posting pictures on social media, hoping to put together the mysterious puzzle.

"He could've died from heat and dehydration," he said. "It's too hot out here, I'm already sweating right now."

The baby's mother soon showed up at Jamichal's house.

The tearful mother was thrilled to be reunited with her son. "As she came here, she was crying. They were out here for a long time," Jamichal told the news outlet.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office said the baby had been in the back seat of a car that was stolen just a few blocks away. It appeared that the thief left the child on the side of the road and took off in the car.

Jamichal credits his faith for putting him in the right place at the right time.

"If it wasn't for God, I wouldn't have been here, God was the one that made me come outside, God did it," he continued.

His father, Noel Young, told the station he raised his son to do the right thing, and he's proud of his actions. "He came to me and said, 'Dad, I think I did something good today,' and I said, 'I think so too,'" the father said.

Comments on the 7 News Miami Facebook page praised the teenage hero.

"So proud of the young man," someone wrote.

"Good job young man!" a commenter agreed.

"God really [save] the baby and he use the youth. amén," another person wrote.
