13-Year-Old Catches DoorDash Driver Spitting on Food Thanks to Doorbell Camera
Since the dawn of pizza delivery, hungry people everywhere have been satisfied with a delicious meal without ever having to turn on the stove. Food delivery is even more convenient today, with many restaurants using services and drivers to get menu items into the hands of hungry customers quickly and easily. But even though these services are convenient, you never know who might be delivering your food.
Elias Crisanto, 13, and his mom ordered food delivery through DoorDash but got a little something extra with their order. Their driver spit on their food during a delivery in Kendall, Florida, over the weekend, which is pretty darn disgusting. But the joke's on the driver: Crisanto shared Ring camera footage, and now the despicable driver’s face is everywhere.

The teen and his mom just wanted a bite to eat.
Crisanto told Local 10 that he and his mom were home Saturday and decided to get some food delivered through DoorDash. When the teen received the notification from the DoorDash app that his food was close by, he started to watch his front porch through his Ring camera. The delivery driver showed up, and when he placed the food on the ground, he mumbled, but it's what he did next that was so shocking.
Crisanto watched the man spit on his food.
He didn’t do it just once. The video shows the driver aggressively spitting on the family’s food multiple times. He appeared to be unhappy with the tip Crisanto and his mother left for him.
He and his mom said they ordered $30 worth of food and left the driver a $3 tip, which seemed to upset him.
“My reaction was I wanted to throw up,” the teen told Local 10. “It’s so disgusting. I mean, who does that?”
Crisanto immediately contacted DoorDash.
The smart teen knew that what he saw was disgusting and a terrible reflection on DoorDash drivers. He contacted the company through its chat feature, shared the video, and requested a refund.
Local 10 reported that the delivery service initially denied his request, but Crisanto wasn’t backing down. He called the customer service number and got his refund.
“I think they should have handled it better,” the teen said. “They should trust people more and see the evidence they have to show you before declining it automatically.”
DoorDash responded to the shocking video.
Crisanto shared an email with Local 10 sent to him by DoorDash. The company assured him that he would never have to deal with the nasty driver again, as he was no longer allowed to work for the company.
“We do not condone this type of action and have therefore taken the step in removing them from our platform. This Dasher will no longer be able to deliver future orders on DoorDash," the email read. "Results of all internal investigations are kept private.”

The video is all over social media.
The Instagram account @onlyindade shared the Ring camera footage with its 1 million followers. People had mixed feelings about the interaction.
Most people agreed that what the driver did was uncalled for.
“I’m a driver too you have the right to not pick up the food if they don’t tip, this is very disgusting,” one driver commented.
“Idgaf I don’t pre tip because I’ve never heard of tipping before the service is even provided. I only tip before if I have no cash. Safe to say this man is a delivery driver because of his character because seriously who spits on food over tip?? Low life,” one follower agreed.
People thought it was disgusting.
“He should be fired . Your next order may be your biggest tip of the day . Now you just missed your blessing spitting ugh 😑,” someone wrote.
But others thought Crisanto and his mother should’ve left a better tip.
“If it is too much for you to leave a tip, maybe you can’t afford Uber eats, doordash, etc at all. Maybe go and pick it up yourself, cook something, or skip that meal(and go into fasting) 🙄,” someone else wrote.
“Y’all really not tipping your delivery drivers?” another person questioned.
One Instagram user believed everyone made some mistakes.
“Buyer is wrong not to tip and driver wrong for doing what he did….. but driver is really in the wrong because that’s not his only delivery of the day and I bet there were a few 10-15% tips throughout," the person commented. "On UberEats, I’ve entered 15% only to drop it to less because my Ring camera showed my stuff being tossed or something. His mentality, forgetting the big picture, and losing reason over one… is the kind that keeps a middle age man exactly in positions like this.”
