Dozens of Men Tried a Period Pain Simulator on Camera & Their Reactions Are Beyond Extreme
No one ever said that being a woman is easy, and it is definitely not painless. Not only do we have to birth the babies, but also all those months when we aren’t pregnant we get our periods, which often come with cramps, bloating, and overall yucky feelings. It’s not fun at all, is it friends?
Sure, being a man has its own struggles, and we aren’t saying that we want to trade places necessarily, but it sure would be nice if they could feel a bit of our struggle, wouldn’t it? Maybe then they'd truly understand the kind of grit it takes just to exist as a woman.
Lux Perry, founder and CEO of Somedays, a company that offers natural period pain relief, thinks men should feel what women go through, so she sets up guys with period pain simulators and records their reactions for TikTok. Well, the results are just as incredible as you would imagine.

Perry knows periods mean pain for a lot of women.
When she started Somedays, she wanted to help women on the days they aren’t feeling their best by supplying them with natural products such as topical relief for menstrual cramps and bloating. She sells her products, like the company's Cramp Cream, online and often through trade show events. That is when she brings her period pain simulator out for men to feel what it is really like to be a woman.
It's not so much fun, is it fellas?
She shares the men’s reactions on her TikTok channel, and it is pretty darn hilarious. Some of them act tough to start but quickly change their tune as the intensity on the simulator increases.
In one viral video, a pair of young guys sit down and before the demonstrator even turns the intensity up to the second level, it is very apparent they are uncomfortable.
These guys are struggling.
When the demonstrator turns the dial up to a four, one of the guys is shocked when she tells him that isn’t even “standard period pain yet.”
His friend’s leg begins to vibrate, and he tells her that the pain comes in “waves.” He taps out at a seven, but his friend vows to go all the way.
He clearly regrets his decision to continue.
Although his friend recovers from his faux cramps, the buddy stays in. He continues through levels eight and nine and stands to cheer himself on at the finale of level 10, but he soon doubles over in pain. He grabs his leg and bounces up and down as the cramps begin to win.
He lets out a labored “Yee haw” and admits that period pain is “not normal.”

Perry wants everyone to realize that what women go through is not normal.
She explains in another TikTok that her videos inflicting pain went viral, but it is ironic because her company’s mission is to relieve that pain.
“It’s life changing. It’s really important that people have the period care that they deserve," she says. “Period pain can basically interrupt everything in your life if it’s something that you struggle with. And you spend ten years of your life bleeding, so, it’s very important that people have access to the care they need.”
One commenter summed it up perfectly, writing, “Not all heroes wear capes. Your story is fantastic, congrats on the success.”
